Hello there! My name is Taralynn Starr. I am currently a student at Eastern Oregon University and am so excited to finally see light at the end of the tunnel. As a young child I had a great love of reading but as I got older that love began to become resentment and a dislike of reading. In my adult life I have now found a new love for reading. Looking back I have realized that my love for reading faded because it was something I had to do. Knowing this I think that it is very important to let students enjoy reading. Let them read books that interest and excited them. As a future educator I am excited to share my love of reading with my students. I will encourage them to read, read, read; but to read books that they find interesting. I will tell them that reading is a great escape into another world. It is a chance to discover things in books that will excite them. Reading should be enjoyable and not something students have to do so I will encourage them to find books they can enjoy reading. I look forward to teaching and sharing many wonderful books with my students.
